FWA Severe Weather Update
SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE
FWA took a major hit from last night's storms with a number of airport and airport-related facilities suffering from various degrees of damage. While there is an abundance of damage, all staff that were on-site during the severe weather event are safe and no injuries were reported. The airport IS currently open and operational for flight activity, however flights throughout the morning have been cancelled or significantly delayed. The FAA tower is also open and operating as normal at this time.
If you are traveling to the airport today, please note that there are a number of downed trees and branches throughout the terminal drive and across parking lot facilities, as well as other debris and damage. Crews are assessing any damage and clean up will begin soon. The parking lot entrances and exits are working, however they may be limited. Other debris and damage cleanup will be taken care of by airport crews.
The Skywest Maintenance Facility located on the airport campus suffered significant damage, and due to that flights operating under Skywest will likely be impacted. Skywest staff is working along with FWA staff to ensure they can get back up and running. Please check with your airline directly for flight status updates or questions related to your reservation.
