Fort Wayne International Airport Announces Spring Break Festivities

Fort Wayne, Ind. – As schools prepare for a week of vacation, many families are packing their suitcases for warmer weather destinations. Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) is ready to welcome an increase in passenger traffic through the terminal during the Spring Break season with a little fun. FWA will be hosting Spring Break festivities for select flights beginning Wednesday, March 11th, 2020 through Sunday, April 12th, 2020.

Passengers will be welcomed at FWA with the smell of freshly popped popcorn and a variety of complimentary snacks. Passengers will also have the opportunity to take photos with an FWA photo backdrop, and play cornhole while they wait for their flights.  Passengers are encouraged to share their photos on social media and to tag FWA social media accounts – Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Each Wednesday FWA will be posting clues for “Where’s Doug Wednesday”, an interactive social media contest on FWA social media channels. “Where’s Doug Wednesday” clues will be posted each Wednesday morning, with the answer being posted on Thursday morning. Each correct guess will count as an entry into the contest. In order to be entered into the giveaway, participants must follow FWA on social media, and correct answers must be received in the comment section every Wednesday by midnight. Those who guess Doug’s location correctly will be entered for a chance to win two roundtrip tickets to Las Vegas via FWA’s newest non-stop route on Allegiant Air. The “Where’s Doug Wednesday” contest will run through Wednesday, April 8, 2020, with the winner being announced on Monday, April 13, 2020.

“We always look forward to welcoming passengers traveling for Spring Break and are happy to offer complimentary treats and giveaways to start their vacation off right,” said Scott Hinderman, Executive Director of Airports. “These activities are a fun way to thank our passengers for choosing FWA during the Spring Break season.”

In addition to the “Where’s Doug Wednesday” social media contest, FWA will also have special Las Vegas themed swag items while supplies last throughout the Spring Break celebration. FWA’s newest non-stop service to Las Vegas, Nevada via Allegiant Air will begin on Thursday, June 4, 2020. Tickets can be booked now at www.allegiantair.com or by calling 1-702-505-8888.
