Santa's coming to town...in a HELICOPTER!
For the second year, Santa and his elves will take a break from the North Pole to drop by Smith Field Airport this holiday season! “Santa’s Landing” welcomes the community to see Santa land in a helicopter, hear children’s holiday wishes, and enjoy refreshments on Saturday, December 7. Doors will open at 9AM and Santa’s flight is scheduled to arrive at 10AM. After his arrival, Santa will stick around to hear each child's wish and take a picture. Admission to the event is one new, unwrapped toy donation for the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation.
This is a great opportunity for the whole family to stop by the airport and enjoy a little holiday fun, all for a very worthy cause. Last year, the local Toys for Tots program distributed over 18,000 toys and brought Christmas smiles to more than 9,000 children in 7 counties in Northeast Indiana. This year, officials are anticipating at least that amount, due to the slow economy this past year.
Parking is limited, so guests are encouraged to arrive early and carpool if possible.
