FWA Reminds Passengers to Leave Carry-On Gifts Unwrapped, Offers Free Gift Wrapping Post-Security

The holiday travel season is quickly approaching, and Fort Wayne International Airport is wrapping up the holiday cheer! As a thank you to passengers and a reminder that all gifts should be left unwrapped when going through security, FWA will host a Holiday Wrap Station, where airport volunteers and employees will wrap gifts free of charge. The Holiday Wrap Station will be available post-security from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday, December 17 through Friday, December 21.

“We had a great turnout at the Wrap Station last year and thought it would be a great holiday gift to our passengers again this year,” said Scott Hinderman, Executive Director of Airports. “We strive to make our passenger’s holiday travel as smooth and hassle-free as possible, so this is just another one of those conveniences that we’re happy to offer here at FWA.”

Gifts should be left unwrapped so that Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel may gain access to all items at the security checkpoint. If passengers choose to wrap their own gifts, they are encouraged to store them in their checked bags or ship them ahead. Only ticketed passengers who have passed through security are eligible for complimentary gift wrapping.
