Fort Wayne International Airport, Easterseals Arc, and Allegiant present Wings for Autism

FWA is thrilled to be partnering with Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana and Allegiant once again for Wings for Autism! This wonderful event allows individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families to have a "rehearsal" mimicking a real trip at the airport. Participants will practice entering the airport, obtaining boarding passes, going through security, and boarding a plane. The plane will not taxi or take off.

About Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority The Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority (FWACAA) was created in 1985 and is responsible for managing the Fort Wayne International Airport and Smith Field Airport. The airport authority is governed by a six-member board appointed by the Mayor of Fort Wayne and the Allen County Commissioners. Serving northeast Indiana and the surrounding region, FWA offers nonstop service to 12 cities on four airlines. In 2016, FWA served 727,896 passengers –the seventh year of consecutive growth. As a result of FWACAA’s commitment to customer service, Fort Wayne International Airport was recognized by USA Today as one of the friendliest airports in the nation.
