Fort Wayne International Airport Announces New Air Service Route for 2019

Fort Wayne International Airport Announces New Air Service Route for 2019

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Officials at the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority (FWACAA) are pleased to announce that Allegiant Air will being a new seasonal non-stop route from Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) beginning on Sunday, November 24, 2019. The route will operate twice weekly, with service from late November through late spring 2020.

“The Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority works hard to attract and retain new air service to Northeast Indiana and this is a direct result of those efforts,” said Scott Hinderman, Executive Director of Airports. “Allegiant has been a great partner with FWA over the years and we are excited to see that partnership continue to grow into new markets. This new route adds yet another low-cost nonstop destination for Northeast Indiana residents to enjoy.”

This new route is the thirteenth non-stop destination that FWA offers to the Northeast Indiana region, and the sixth non-stop route from Allegiant Air. In addition to the new Sarasota flight, Allegiant also offers service to Fort Myers/Punta Gorda, Myrtle Beach (seasonal), Orlando/Sanford, Phoenix/Mesa (seasonal), and Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg.

Tickets are now available to the public for the FWA to SRQ route. For flight availability, fares, and ticket purchases, visit www.allegiantair.com, or call Allegiant Air Reservations at 1-702-505-8888.

The Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority is celebrating this new route with a social media contest to win TWO free tickets on the new nonstop route to SRQ. All contestants need to do is share their favorite beach photo with FWA on any of their social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram), and you’ll be entered to win. Entering on each platform is easy. On Facebook – like the contest post, share to your page, and tag who you would want to travel to Sarasota with in the comments along with your beach photo. For Twitter and Instagram – Tag FWA (@flyfwa) in your post along with your beach photo, and use the hashtag #FWAtoSRQ. A winner will be chosen on September 30th.

Limit one entry per person, per social media platform. The prize of two roundtrip tickets on Allegiant Air is only eligible for use on the FWA-SRQ route, and does not include accommodations, luggage, or any other upgrades. Tickets must be booked and used by April 2020.
