Fort Wayne Air Show Impact on Travel to Fort Wayne International Airport

Fort Wayne, Ind. – Due to expected traffic increases and road closures for the 2019 Fort Wayne Air Show, hosted by the Indiana Air National Guard 122nd Fighter Wing, all passengers traveling out of Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) on Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9 are encouraged to plan for additional travel time to the airport. Passenger flights are not impacted by the Fort Wayne Air Show and will operate as scheduled.

All terminal traffic will be routed from Airport Expressway through a traffic checkpoint to Airport Drive. Traffic will then be directed to turn onto Ferguson Road, and then onto the terminal drive. Outbound airport traffic will exit the area via Airport Drive. Passengers and persons picking up or dropping off passengers will be allowed access to the airport area. Short term, long term and economy parking lots at FWA will operate as usual and be available for passenger use. No parking for Fort Wayne Air Show attendees is available within FWA parking lots.

Traffic control points will be in place beginning at 7:00 AM each day through the conclusion of the Air Show.  Increases in traffic are expected from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM each day. Passengers with outbound flights between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM will need to allow for extra time for traffic.

Passengers are encouraged to visit or for updated traffic information throughout the weekend.
