"Crazy for AZ" Photo Contest winners announced

To help spread the word of the new non-stop air service from Fort Wayne (FWA) to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA) on Allegiant beginning at the end of October, FWA teamed up with Allegiant to give away two trips for 2 to Phoenix, AZ by hosting a photo contest. Between August 20 - September 4, contestants could submit a photo on the FWA Facebook page of just about anything - the photo just had to somehow incorporate the letters "A" and "Z".

After the photo submission period was over, voting was opened to the public for two weeks ending September 18. Contestants campaigned to their friends and family to vote for their photo, and the photo with the most votes was named the winner and awarded one of the trips. Even more exciting, a random voter was selected and awarded the other trip just for participating in the fun.

Lindsey Hively, of Columbia City, was the photo contest winner with over 1,400 votes on her photo. She and her friend Sarah created a 6 foot cardboard plane and took a picture with it. They then Photoshopped that image on to a map of the United States showing their journey from FWA to Arizona.

Heather Baumgartner, of Bluffton, was the random voter selected to win the second trip to Arizona. Heather voted for her friend Mike’s picture in the contest and had no idea she was entered to win the trip by voting. Heather has family that lives in Arizona she has not seen in many years, so she is looking forward to her trip and having the opportunity to visit with them.

We wish to extend our thanks to everyone that participated and voted in the contest. We would also especially like to thank Allegiant for providing the airfare to our winners, and the Hyatt Place Scottsdale for providing lodging in Arizona.

Remember that beginning October, 30 2013 Allegiant will operate twice weekly flights direct to Phoenix-Mesa, so if you are “Crazy for AZ” you can head there anytime!
